Cayse Llorens founded B&B in 2023 after personal experiences with family inspired him to make a positive impact on the healthcare system.

Cayse Llorens

Founder & CEO

Cayse Llorens is the founding partner and CEO of Brockhurst & Buchanan. His career has been focused on building and investing in exceptional and lasting companies in the healthcare and technology sectors. Cayse holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois.

  • Cayse launched Brockhurst & Buchanan after personal experiences with family motivated him to build a better world for his parents and other seniors.
  • After several years in the technology sector, Cayse found a home in the private equity industry. He enjoys leveraging his technology toolkit, extensive professional network, and investment expertise to find, acquire, and grow exceptional businesses.
  • Cayse aims to leverage his PE success to build a lasting legacy for his family, ensuring that today's strong investments benefit future generations.

Joseph Douglas

Operating Partner

Joseph Douglas is a long-term veteran in the pharmacy sector, with experience stretching over 25 years and multiple key functional areas. Most recently, Joseph was the CEO of Genoa Healthcare, where he increased revenue by 25%. He opened 185 new pharmacies and 275 CMC locations in three years. Joseph holds a B.Pharm from the University of Florida.

  • As CEO of Genoa Healthcare, Joseph grew the company into a leading pharmacy provider in the Behavioral Health space, overseeing the entire P&L, including internal and external partner relationships. He was also responsible for the hospice space for Optum Rx, including the PBM, which accounted for 40% of the Hospice market in the US.
  • In a prior role at Shields Health Solutions, Joseph led operations of multiple client partners in running, integrating, and driving 340B specialty pharmacy and all aspects of outpatient pharmacy, from mail order to long-term care, including design, automation, and labor designs.
  • Joseph believes that effective pharmacy programs can have a significant impact on patients' health outcomes; he is excited to build an exceptional portfolio with B&B and make a positive impact on the space.

Genoa Healthcare, a division of Optum, is the 5th largest pharmacy chain in the U.S., with annual revenue of $5.4B. Genoa is the leading pharmacy provider in the Behavioral Health space, capturing over 35% of the severe mental illness pharmaceutical market. Joe helped the company reach its current scale and market share through a combination of M&A transactions and launching new pharmacies and clinics.
