About Us

Brockhurst & Buchanan is the investment desk of the Llorens family office. We are focused on building a unique portfolio of integrated pharmacy businesses that serve our nation's patients and improve their quality of life. We typically target pharmacies generating $1+ mm in cash flow.

Cayse Llorens founded B&B in 2023 after personal experiences with family inspired him to make a positive impact on the healthcare system.

Cayse Llorens

Founder & CEO

Cayse Llorens is the founding partner and CEO of Brockhurst & Buchanan. His career has been focused on building and investing in exceptional and lasting companies in the healthcare and technology sectors. Cayse holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois.

  • Cayse launched Brockhurst & Buchanan after personal experiences with family motivated him to build a better world for his parents and other seniors.
  • After several years in the technology sector, Cayse found a home in the private equity industry. He enjoys leveraging his technology toolkit, extensive professional network, and investment expertise to find, acquire, and grow exceptional businesses.
  • Cayse aims to leverage his PE success to build a lasting legacy for his family, ensuring that today's strong investments benefit future generations.

Joseph Douglas

Operating Advisor

Joseph Douglas is a long-term veteran in the pharmacy sector, with experience stretching over 25 years and multiple key functional areas. Most recently, Joseph was the CEO of Genoa Healthcare, where he increased revenue by 25%. He opened 185 new pharmacies and 275 CMC locations in three years. Joseph holds a B.Pharm from the University of Florida.

  • As CEO of Genoa Healthcare, Joseph grew the company into a leading pharmacy provider in the Behavioral Health space, overseeing the entire P&L, including internal and external partner relationships. He was also responsible for the hospice space for Optum Rx, including the PBM, which accounted for 40% of the Hospice market in the US.
  • In a prior role at Shields Health Solutions, Joseph led operations of multiple client partners in running, integrating, and driving 340B specialty pharmacy and all aspects of outpatient pharmacy, from mail order to long-term care, including design, automation, and labor designs.
  • Joseph believes that effective pharmacy programs can have a significant impact on patients' health outcomes; he is excited to build an exceptional portfolio with B&B and make a positive impact on the space.

Joseph's Track Record - Spotlight on Genoa Healthcare

Genoa Healthcare, a division of Optum, is the 5th largest pharmacy chain in the U.S., with annual revenue of $5.4B. Genoa is the leading pharmacy provider in the Behavioral Health space, capturing over 35% of the severe mental illness pharmaceutical market. Joe helped the company reach its current scale and market share through a combination of M&A transactions and launching new pharmacies and clinics.

Dr. Amit Dhingra

Pharmacist-in-Residence

Dr. Amit Dhingra is a board-certified Doctor of Pharmacy with pharmacy ownership experience in the compounding pharmacy space. He is also a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP) and is board-certified in Medication Therapy Management (BCMTM). Amit holds a PharmD from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy.

  • Amit has served patients in a wide range of capacities throughout his career, including clinical settings, academic roles, and strategic advisory positions.
  • He successfully launched, expanded, and exited his own compounding pharmacy business and now brings his real-world experience to the B&B team.
  • Amit is also a published author with a second book on the way. He is a second-generation pharmacist; the Dhingra Family supports local Illinois pharmacy students with a scholarship program.

Tom S. Lee, Ph.D.

Advisor, Multiple Companies

  • Tom successfully founded, led, scaled, and exited a healthcare software company serving 15,000+ physicians and 60+ health systems nationally.  
  • Since 2019, he has independently advised healthcare companies and non-profits on strategy, operations and M&A opportunities, most recently an exit in senior technology to Mayo Clinic. He also led two healthcare innovation accelerators at Matter (Chicago).

Rebekah Barr

CEO, Allyon, Inc.

  • Rebekah is the CEO of a leading IT & healthcare staffing firm and a YPO board member. She is a leader in crafting workforce solutions for clients and has developed a best-in-class culture at Allyon.
  • Rebekah also grew her business through M&A, acquiring and integrating a healthcare staffing company in 2016.

Carl Youngman

  • Carl has served as CEO of 23 companies and sits on global Board of Directors seats.
  • He also has extensive PE investing experience, managing over 40 acquisitions.
